Welcome to my 2-week haul post! 

Lots of library love this week! 5 books I had requested and one I picked up. The Accidental Naturalist by Ben Fogle and Choir by Gareth Malone are both autobiographies, and ordered because I love them both! I have been waiting for Gareth’s book since Christmas, so I am excited to finally be able to read it.

I adore Jodi Picout’s books. They just evoke such emotions, and always talk about issues, which I love in books. The Storyteller promises to be no different, and some people have said it is her best yet.

Lots of people have been receiving proofs of the new book by Tanya Byrne, and I still haven’t read her first! So I thought it was time I changed that. Hence the ordering of Heart-Shaped Bruise.

Last but not least, I picked up a copy of Keeping You a Secret by Julie Peters. This is for the LGBT readathon I am doing, hosted by Faye of A Daydreamer’s Thoughts. It’s a genre I am immensely interested in, but have hardly read anything for! Lookout for lots of LGBT themed posts and reviews in the first weekend of May.

 

I also made a few purchases! Faye did an amazing review of The Secret of Ella and Micha (check it out here) by Jessica Sorensen and so when I saw it in Tesco I snapped it up. I also got The Antenatal Group by Amy Bratley as it was on offer, and I will read anything about babies.

Yet another trip to The Works, yet another bargain book haul. I picked up Someone Else’s Life by Katie Dale as I had seen it about, so I thought it was worth getting. I was delighted to find Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi. I have never read her books, but I know they are talked about a lot by bloggers. I spent about ten minutes trying to decipher which was the first in the series, and thankfully came home with the right one! Before I Forget by Melissa Hill was thrown in to make up the offer, and sounds like a cute amnesia romance.

My last physical books was gifted from Daphne at Winged Reviews. Her and Faye have been raving about Julie Kagawa’s books to me. I managed to get The Immortal Rules in my last bookshop visit, and so she kindly offered to send me a copy of The Eternity Cure so I don’t have to wait to find out what happens! I am loving The Immortal Rules at the moment, so thanks very much for this 🙂

Thank you to Penguin and Netgalley for The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey. I was quite surprised to be approved for this. It sounds like a really good action, dystopian post-apocalyptic kind of novel, which suits my current mood perfectly, so I may be reading this soon!

 

Ink by Amanda Sun has such a pretty cover. I was psyched to get this, as I’ve heard lots of good things so far! Thanks Harlequin and Netgalley.

 

 

 

Books about teenage pregnancy always pique my interest, and Screwed by Laurie Plissner is no different. Thanks to Adams Media and Netgalley for a copy of this.

 

I’m taking part in the blog tour with Itching for Books for Submerged by Nicola Sobon. The first in a dystopian duology, I can’t wait to read this. Check back on May 13th for my review!

 

 

 

Amy from Harper Collins kindly sent me access to Wait For You by Jennifer L Armentrout. It is my first book by her, but I have heard lots of talk about her Lux series, so I’m interested to see what this is like.

 

I’m also part of The Forgotten Ones blog tour by Laura Howard. I love the typography on the title.

 

 

The cover for Find Me by Romily Bernard is just so awesome. And the tagline too! HUGE thank you to Harper Collins and Edelweiss for this, it sounds amazing. I love YA thrillers, and I can’t wait to start this.

I won a copy of Bethany Lopez’s Make It Last from Neyra at Darkest Addictions. I think I have a copy of the second book, so I asked if I could have the first instead of the third, and they kindly obliged!

Welcome to my 2-week haul post! It’s scary the amount of books I got this week O..O

Firstly, on the 19th I went to a book event for Lauren Oliver, to celebrate the release of her new book Requiem. It was really lovely to hear her talk about her inspiration and how she writes. Although I’m sad the series has ended, I’m really excited to read more things by her. I had a nice catch up with Stacey of The Pretty Books and met Lucy from Choose YA. So while in the queue, discussing books (naturally), Faye was gushing about the Eternity Cure, and I said I had never read any of Julie Kagawa’s books. I also haven’t read Divergent yet (I know!), and Faye mentioned that she found a copy in The Works, which for those of you who don’t have one, is basically a discount store where they have books and stationary and things. The books aren’t in any order, which is quite frustrating! So I visited a shopping centre yesterday, and (having already indulged in a couple of books in Waterstones) decided to pop in the Works to check out what they have. Here’s what I came out with:

I think I have a problem! In my defence, the books were 3 for £5, which means each book cost less than £2. At that price, how could I resist?!  

So I managed to find both of Faye’s recommendations; Divergent by Veronica Roth and The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa. I also picked up a couple of books that I have read before, but wanted for my collection. These were Extras and Specials by Scott Westerfeld and The Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend by Matthew Dicks.

I also picked up some cute looking girly/contemporary YA. They had lots of Sara Shepard’s books, so I decided to get the first, Pretty Little Liars. The Pretty Commitee Strikes Back is actually the 5th in the series by Lisi Harrison, but was all they had so I decided to grab it! The Look by Sophia Bennett has pink edges. Need I say more.  Lucy Lord’s Revelry also looked a lot of fun, so it went in the basket.

The rest from the Works were just YA that I’ve heard about, or seen, and looked good! For that price, I think even if it is an okayish read, it’s worth it. Lots of people are talking about the sequel to Slide by Jill Hathaway, so I’m pleased I found the first one. Likewise with Pure by Julianna Baggott. The Future of Us by Jay Asher and Adorkable by Sarra Manning looked like cute, geeky books, something which I greatly enjoy! Last, but not least, Night School by CJ Daugherty, because I love boarding school books, and When You Were Mine by Rebecca Serle, because it sounds like an epic romance, and goodness knows I need more of that in my life!

Blimey. So before this amazing trip I had already popped into Waterstones, where I picked up Skin Deep by Laura Jarratt and Insignia by SJ Kincaid, as part of their Waterstones Teen Shortlist offer. It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini really took my fancy (psychiatric hospitals, yay!) and The Hit by Melvin Burgess was an impulse buy. It sounds amazing and the cover is SHINY. Ironically, I spent more in Waterstones (4 books) than in the Works (15 books). What madness.

Finally, in all the buying bonanza, I picked up one book from the library this fortnight! The Farm by Emily McKay is a vampire dystopian kind of book. I swear it was YA, but my library have shelved it in fantasy. Who knows.

Needless to say, this will keep me going for a good while! I totally blame Faye for making me going in there. And on payday! Recipe for disaster if I ever saw one 😉

And if you think I got off lightly on the ebook front, think again!  

I think someone at Random House must have been clicker-happy this week as I got approved for 4 books from them on Netgalley! Thanks you guys, I was very surprised for all the approvals, and they are all for amazing books, and ones that I really want to read.

Firstly, Itch Rocks by Simon Mayo, the second in his Itch series. I have read the first one, and thought it was a really good middle-grade sciencey actiony book. I have yet to write up my review, but I will try and get it up before I read this one!

Next is Fall Guy by Liz Reinhardt. This is the first in a NA romance series, a genre which I seem to be reading a lot of lately!

 

 

 

Next is a book I got sent an email about, and requested in straight away. Twerp by Mark Goldblatt is a bullying book, and you know how much I love those, so I’m looking forward to seeing how Mark tackles it.

And my last beauty from Random was The Kissing Booth by Beth Reekles. This looks like such a cute contemporary, great at the end of a long day or maybe for the beach?

I also got approved for Storm by Evan Angler, thanks to Thomas Nelson and Netgalley. This is the third in a series; I have the second in ebook but unfortunately not the first. However, they all look really good so I will try and get hold of the first so I can start these!

Bloomsbury kindly gave me access to The Academy: Game On by Monica Seles. There is a surge of sports/romance/YA contemporaries at the moment, and this looked really cute. So much pink!

I also got approved on Edelweiss for Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. This has gotten really great reviews so I can’t wait to read it!

Last but certainly not least, Harper Collins gave me a copy of The Edge of Never to review. I have seen LOADS of reviews about this, and finally I get to see what all the fuss is about! It looks very 50 shades to be, but is marketed as NA so we’ll see how it goes!

Welcome to my 2-week haul post! I got an amazing amount of books this week. My pile is never going to disappear, I just have to admit it!

First my library/print book piles 

 We will start on the left, which is my library pile. Last week I collect all adult titles. I ordered ‘After The Fall‘ by Charity Norman and ‘This Beautiful Life‘ by Helen Schulman. I enjoy books that confront issues not normally talked about, and this is common in Jodi Picoult’s books. After The Fall tells the story of what happens when a 5-year-old falls from an upstairs veranda. Only his mum knows what happened, and she’s not telling. This Beautiful Life describes events unfolding after a sexually explicit video goes viral among teenagers. Both sound really intriguing, so I am looking forward to reading them.

I have heard lots of people talk about ‘The Night Rainbow‘ by Claire King, so I had to see what all the fuss was all about. With such a pretty cover, it looks like a book to be read with a nice hot chocolate. Throw ‘How We Met‘ by Katy Regan into the pile, and you could see my strange tastes in books! I love me some romance, and this sounds quite similar to PS I Love You, which I adored.

Another three books to collect on Saturday. I’ll be starting Pandemonium on Monday or Tuesday because I want to try and finish it before the Lauren Oliver event on Tuesday evening. I’m psyched to find out how the trilogy end, though a bit nervous as people seem to have had mixed reactions. But it will be really good to meet her and hear her thoughts on the books, and hopefully she will talk a bit about the tv series as well.

Everybody knows I am a huge Robert Muchamore fan. While I love his original Cherub series the most, I will still pick up anything by him, including ‘Scorched Earth‘, the latest in the Henderson Boys series. Full of war and action and teen spies, this will be a nice break from all the contemporary stuff I’m reading at the moment! And last but not least, ‘The Library of Unrequieted Love’ by Sophie Divry. Any librarians or exlibrarians or book lovers will read this on the title alone, not to mention the quirky cover.

So I received my first ARC from a publisher this week. Nina Douglas from Indigo kindly sent me a copy if ‘If You Find Me‘ by Emily Murdoch. It has a rating of over 4 stars on GR, and everyone I know has loved it, so I thought I’d see what it was like. Many thanks to Nina for sending me this copy with a lovely cover! I also was sent ‘This Is What Happy Looks Like‘ by Jennifer E Smith by Headline. Thanks to Sam Eades for this. I have already read it and ADORED IT. My review should be coming out by the end of the month, but it was just amazing. I am in love. Definitely one to covet on my shelf!

This is certainly a fortnight for book packages! I was in the middle of reading a library copy of Lauren Oliver’s Delirium, when I received a copy in the post! There was no note or return address, so I can only presume it came from the lovely people at Hodder. Thank you very much for this, as it means I can get her to sign it on Tuesday! And it is great to have my own copy. And lastly, on Saturday I got a steamy package through the door. Not literally; ‘Losing It‘ by Cora Carmack arrived. Thanks to her and Ebury Press for sending me a copy. I have already read it (check out my review here) and I thought it was amazing. My favourite NA title so far! I’m also doing a giveaway, so if you fancy checking this out then enter here. The odds for you are very good at the moment!

 

In other bookish news, I met Stephenie Meyer this week, and she kindly signed my copy of ‘The Host‘, ready for the film release at the end of the month. She was really nice and posed for pictures with everyone, but it just seemed like the moment was over too soon. I much prefer book events where you get to hear the author speak, even if it is a promo spiel about their new release.

I received Daynight by Megan Thomason from Laura at Prism Book Tours. I’m taking part in the blog tour for this, so come and visit on the 23rd April for my post. I was psyched to read this because there has been a bit of a dip in the dystopian world, and I do love me a good dystopian. It’s been getting amazing reviews, so hopefully I will enjoy it too! 

Broken At Love is a new adult debut by Lyla Payne. A love triangle between a girl and two frat boy brothers, I know I will just devour it. My blog tour stop is on April 22nd, and I think there is also a giveaway for NA books or swag, so make sure you check that out. Thanks to Kelly from InkSlingerPR for letting me take part.

I was very excited to get an email from the lovely people at Simon & Schuster and Edelweiss to say I have been approved for Dirty Little Secret by Jennifer Echols. Although I haven’t read any of her books before, I have heard lots of good things. I am on a contemporary fix at the moment, and this looks so adorable! Thanks you guys, I can’t wait to read this. And music in it too! *squeals*

Welcome to my 2-week haul post! Lots of exciting things happened in the last two weeks!

First my library/print book piles:

*Sigh* SO MUCH GOODNESS these last two weeks. First the library books! I ordered ‘If I Stay‘ by Gayle Forman because I stupidly picked up the second in the series a couple of weeks ago. Luckily this is only short, so should only be a day’s reading. This week I also collected ‘Delirium‘ by Lauren Oliver because she’s doing an event in London in a couple of weeks for Requiem, and I wanted to reread the series beforehand. 

Last week I went to a book signing for Nicholas Sparks as his latest book, ‘Safe Haven‘, is being released in the cinemas. The two stars from the film were also there, and they all answered questions before Nicholas signed books. 

    

I’m hoping to see this film next weekend so I’ll let you all know what it’s like! 

While I was in Waterstones I picked up ‘Attachments‘ by Rainbow Rowell. I absolutely ADORE her, and I have been after this for ages. Unfortunately all the copies I’ve seen in the bookshop are dirty, or have crumpled pages, and I’m a perfectionist! I’ll hopefully be rereading this soon, as I want to follow the playlist she has created for the book.

I also picked up ‘Between the Lines‘ by Tammara Webber, as I need more New Adult books in my life, and this looks really good. It also sparked a conversation with Laura from Bookish Treasures about where to shelve new adult books, as she is my NA guru!

I bought ‘The Vincent Boys‘ by Abbi Glines (who is coming to the UK soon!) and ‘Emailing Allie‘ by Julie Lawson because they both sound amazing. ‘Drowning Instinct‘ by Ilsa Bick was on special for only £3.50 so I thought I’d give it a whirl 🙂

Finally, my highlight from the past two weeks (and my year!) was the Geek Girl blogger party. My first blogger event, I got to meet lots of other bloggers, and everyone was super amazing and friendly and never complained that I kept plonking myself in their circles and eavesdropping! 

Holly Smale, authoress of Geek Girl, was so amazingly lovely. I like to stalk her on Twitter, but I was quite shocked when she invited me to the party. But she is such a doll 🙂 Look at the picture of all the goody bagness I received! I didn’t take any pictures, but please check out Kirsty’s post here and Luna’s here for their round ups of the day 🙂

 

 

 

In other book news, I also got a couple of ebooks:

‘The S-Word‘ by Chelsea Pitcher. I’ve heard lots of people talking about this bullying/suicide book, so I was really surprised to be approved! Thanks Simon & Schuster via Gallery books and Netgalley.

I received ‘Picture Perfect‘ buy Alessandra Thomas via Kelly of InkSlinger PR as I am talking part in the release day launch on March 26. When an ex-fashion designer takes to nude modelling after an accident, it causes all sorts of problems. This book sounds really good and I’m so pleased to be able to review it.

 

 ‘The Registry‘ by Shannon Stoker is actually an adult book, but a dystopian one at that, so I had to request it. Thanks to Edelweiss and Harper Collins via William Morrow Paperbacks for the approval!

I received a copy of ‘The Space Between‘ by the author Victoria Smith to review. New adult contemporary romance? Yes please!

 

‘Escape Theory‘ by Margaux Froley is a book I’ve been hearing good things about on the blogosphere. Thanks to Soho Teen and Edelweiss for this copy! I haven’t heard a lot about Soho Teen before, but they’ve got some interesting books coming up so I’ll be keeping my eye out!

Book review: Losing It

Bliss Edwards is about to graduate from college and still has hers. Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, she decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible– a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if if that weren’t embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She’d left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.

Oh.my.god. What an emotional whirlwind this book is!  I couldn’t put it down. You fall straight into the action with Bliss (a porn star name if I’ve ever heard one) determined to lose her virginity.  Its a shock she still has it as a college senior, and her best friend Kelsey, who lost hers a long time ago, doesn’t see what the big deal is. So she takes Bliss clubbing to meet a guy. Little does she know what she is letting herself in for when she meets Garrick.
This is a guy to fantasise about. He is British (obviously an important thing to Americans!) and oh so sexy. The Christian Gray of the YA world! As well as steamy, this book also has some funny moments. My favourite quote is: 

“Seriously? Is it because of Jesus? Are you, like, saving yourself for him?” Sex seemed simpler for Kelsey. She had the body of a Barbie and the sexually-charged brain of a teenage boy.
“No, Kelsey,” I said. “It would be a little difficult to save myself for someone who died over two thousand years ago.”

The only thing I didn’t like about this book was that it ended! Will cross my fingers there is a sequel. Also the language at the beginning was quite cringe worthy.  Things like ‘hoo-hoo’. Does anyone really talk like that?! I also didn’t like the use of ‘hoe-bag’ and ‘sexual sword’. Surely, surely there are better words! If you can get past that, then this a great book.

For fans of steamy romances, this one is for you! Just make sure you set aside a day, because you won’t be able to put it down!

Kill Order by James Dashner. This was an amazing series, and I can’t wait to find out how it all began! I resisted buying this for my birthday as I knew I had it on order. Thank god I didn’t have to wait long 🙂 

Confessions of a Murder Suspect by James Patterson. I have wanted to read this for ages, but had to wait for my library to order a copy. Finally it is in! 

Survive by Alex Morel. I returned a proof copy (MetaWars- my 4 sofa review coming soon) on Saturday, and I just couldn’t resist picking up another. It is compared to the tv series ‘Lost’ which I loved, so I HAD to take it home. Right?….

I tried not to request any books this week, as I am still waiting to hear from Harper Collins about all their lovely Edelweiss books 😦 But I doubt I will get approval anyway! So Netgalley sent me an email, and I thought I’d just check what was new, and got a bit carried away….

 

Hidden by Marianne Curley. Thanks to Bloomsbury! The cover is gorgeous, I love the blue against the black and white cover.

 

 

There are Reasons Noah Packed No Clothes by Robert Jacoby. Sometimes simple covers are the best, and I thank Cloud Books for a copy of this. This is about a 19-yo boy who overdoses. I love hospital/illness type books, so I am expecting good things!

 

 

Heart Like Mine by Amy Hatvany from Atria Books. I requested this because it has kids in it! Lol. The plot seems really interesting, very Jodi Picoult-like. I haven’t heard of this author before, so I am excited to see what this is like.

 

Finally, but certainly not leastly, Fragments by Dan Wells. I know I haven’t read Partials yet, but I got it in my birthday haul. And everyone has given it good recommendations. Many many thanks to Harper Collins, you guys rock! If only you would approve me on Edelweiss….

Book Review: Pivot Point

Addison Coleman’s life is one big “What if?” As a Searcher, whenever Addie is faced with a choice, she can look into the future and see both outcomes. It’s the ultimate insurance plan against disaster. Or so she thought. When Addie’s parents ambush her with the news of their divorce, she has to pick who she wants to live with—her father, who is leaving the paranormal compound to live among the “Norms,” or her mother, who is staying in the life Addie has always known. Addie loves her life just as it is, so her answer should be easy. One Search six weeks into the future proves it’s not.

I knew as soon as I started ‘Pivot Point‘ by Kasie West that I would love it. I’ve been going through a bit of a slow book phase as I’m trying to cut down on my tbr pile, and as a consequence reading books I’ve lost some enthusiasm for. So I decided to read Pivot Point to make a dent in my ebooks, and I’m soooo glad its the one I chose.

The story follows Addie, who lives in a world where people have mind abilities. Hers is Divergence, which means that when she has a choice she can Search the future, experience both and then pick the right one.
When she finds out her parents are getting divorced, she has to make a life changing choice: stay with her mum, and her friends and school, or live with her dad in the normal world,  where people don’t have abilities.

The book alternates chapters between each possible future, and it is actually really easy to follow. Though there is some frustration when the chapter is left on a cliffhanger, and the next chapter is a completely different storyline! It started off very lighthearted, but got really gripping towards the end.

Character-wise, the author does a really good job of integrating people’s abilities into the story. Unlike the tv series ‘Heroes’, people are not given abilities just for the sake of it.  Everyone has a purpose, and especially towards the final chapters, it really comes together.  The relationship between Addie and Laila (her best friend) was really interesting. The at home chapters showed the more fun side of their relationship; boys, football games and such. However, it was quite realistic in the moving future, in that Addie and Laila still kept in touch. Though I did find it very strange where Addie would call Laila from the bathroom (why did she get in the shower? And close the curtain?!).

Of course with two different storylines there are two different guys to swoon over, and we have to pick a team. Duke, lead quarterback of the football team, is ever-popular, and when he falls for Addie she is (rightly) suspicious of him. Why would he even look at her? Their relationship shows the vulnerability of Addie. On the flipside, Trevor (like the frog from Harry Potter!) is a Norm, with no abilities, and no understanding of the world Addie has come from, and the ability she possesses. But when the worlds collide, will her lies crumble?

The only thing that did niggle me a little was that when Addie moved to the normal world out of the Compound, she had to lie about where she came from. Understandable. But then we find out that her old school competes with her new school at football. Obviously the Norms do not know about the abilities. So why is it that Addie couldn’t say she came from there?

I thought this book was amazing, with incredible pacing that gets you hooked from the start. By the end of the book I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, but then I found out there is going to be a sequel, so all is well! I would recommend this for fans of character-based YA novels. The sci-fi aspect, while present and important, should not put anyone off as this is very much about human emotions. A great debut from Kasie West, and I can’t wait for her next book as well as the Pivot Point sequel! 5 sofas from me.

Letterbox Love is a meme hosted by Lynsey of Narratively Speaking whereby book lovers can exhibit the books they received this week.

An impressive haul this week 😀 It was my birthday yesterday, so a trip to Waterstones was a must! First the library love: 

‘The Sky Is Everywhere‘ by Jandy Nelson is on my to-read list. So if I physically hold the book, there’s more chance of me reading it….right? This is the only book I collected this week as I am trying very hard to get my library pile down!

Now for ebooks! I was extremely excited to get my first Edelweiss acceptance this week, and it seems HarperCollins must love me! I got accepted for ‘Period 8‘ by Chris Crutcher, ‘Mila 2.0‘ by Debra Driza, ‘Pivot Point‘ by Kasie West and ‘Pretty Girl-13‘ by Liz Coley. All four are books I have heard lots about and sound AMAZING so I am extremely grateful! I had to resist starting Mila 2.0 last night, as I have a couple of others that need to come first. Much much love for Harper Collins though, as this was a wonderful gift. *Swoons*

         

Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for ‘Speechless‘ by Hannah Harrington. It feels like this book has been on my to-read list FOREVER so I was really pleased to get this. It sounds very gripping, and I’m sure I will devour it! 

I was also quite shocked to get accepted for ‘Warm Bodies‘ by Isaac Marion. Thanks to Netgalley and Random House. I was a bit unsure about this one but there is a lot of hype so it made me intrigued. I never usually get accepted by Random House so it is much appreciated!

And now for the ones I bought! This is quite bad of me, but there are soooooo many new books out there that I want to read, and many that my local library doesn’t have. In my defence, I got some in the sale, and most of the others were buy one, get one half price. I had no choice! So here are the ones I bought yesterday:

Yay for John Green! I adored ‘A Fault in Their Stars’, so I grabbed the opportunity to read another of his novels. And the cover for ‘Looking For Alaska‘ is so pretty! I had a bit of a dilemma between this and ‘an Abundance of Katherines’, but I hope I made the right choice. I also picked up ‘City of Shadows‘ by Alex Scarrow (Time Riders 6) as I have some of the other Timeriders so this will go nicely with my collection.

I also took advantage of this trip to pick up ‘Love Virtually‘ by Daniel Glattauer. I am totally in love with this book, and its sequel ‘Every Seventh Wave, which I reviewed earlier this week here. I implore you to read it!

Two that I picked up that I haven’t read before are ‘From What I Remember‘ by Stacy Kramer and Valerie Thomas and ‘Partials‘ by Dan Wells. The first just sounded really fun, a good beach read, and like it might have some laughs too! Conversely, I wanted ‘Partials’ as it sounded like a good dystopian novel. And I think you can never have too many of them in your life! 

Never ending books, hehe. ‘Second Chance Summer‘ by Morgan Matson was I book I was/am really looking forward to. I love reading books about illness and such things, especially YA, so this is really up my street. I chose ‘Geekhood: Close Encounters of the Girl Kind‘ by Andy Robb firstly for its quirky cover, and because its always fun to read a boy’s perspective on girls. I think everyone should read books once in a while that make them smile, and this looks like that type of book!

Finally ‘Before I Die‘ by Jenny Downham (already read), ‘Perfect Chemistry‘ by Simone Elkeles and ‘Perfect Match‘ by Jodi Picoult because who can resist a bargain! Yay for sale books! And because of my book buying excellence, a £10 voucher from the lovely people at Waterstones for spending so much money. What an excuse to buy more books….
