LGBT Readathon!

lgbtrat

This weekend I am taking part in the LGBT readathon, hosted by Faye of A Daydreamer’s Thoughts.

I haven’t been reading much lately, but I will try and change that! The books I have on my TBR eligible for this challenge are:

P1050194

        When Love Comes to Town

Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan

Keeping You A Secret by Julie Peters

Sprout by Dale Peck

Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan

Geography Club by Brent Hartinger

When Love Comes to Town by Tom Lennon

I hope to start Boy Meets Boy first, as this comes recommended by Faye herself. It also highlights the lack of lesbian YA aside from Keeping You A Secret. If you could recommend any then please feel free!

Faye is also hosting a twitter chat at 8pm GMT on Sunday. Look out for #LGBTRead to take part, or head over to her blog to find out more.

      • Lauren Myracle! Going to post the link below. I loved this book. It handles hate crimes and ignorance and fear so beautifully AND manages to face everything head-on. The hate crime is…stomach wrenching so be prepared. I think Myracle did a fab job. Truly. She has crazy talent.

I am on deadline so extra reading has been strictly vorboten for me, but this is very tempting. Even if I can’t keep up, I will definitely be lurking 🙂

Can’t wait to see what you think about David Levithan. I thought NICK AND NORAH’S INFINITE PLAYLIST was wonderful. I’ve been meaning to pick up other books by him.

      • Thank you so much! Definitely going on my TBR then. I actually already have ‘Kissing Kate’ by her on my list, so even more incentive to check it out.
I should not be doing extra reading either, I have about 5 books to read next week before I go on holiday, but I have zero willpower 😛 lurking is good though!

I haven’t read any of his books before, but they are all over my TBR, especially ‘Two Boys Kissing’. Hopefully will finish Boy Meets Boy today and review tomorrow!

  1. Thanks for joining us Debbie 😀
Two of the books on our lists are the same 🙂 Hope we both enjoy them! hehe.
Good luck with all your books and I cannot wait to see what you think of Boy meets Boy!

  2. I have read Boy Meets Boy years ago, so I can’t recall much of the plot, but I remember liking it very much. And I just finished When Love Comes to Town – it was a great read, imo 🙂
