Feature & Follow

FF 2012 Feature & Follow #121

If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

trans Feature & Follow #121The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. All features are chosen randomly to be the feature. They are not chosen by content or name.

Q: What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love triangles? Or can’t deal with bad editing?

A: One thing I can’t stand is bad editing, or overuse of slang. Lots of unnecessary made up words make reading difficult, as does books with very small print! I know smaller paperbacks are better, but not if the writing is minuscule!

Love triangles where the girl/boy is self-pitying are irritating. It is not such a terrible life to have everyone love you. Get over it.

Letterbox Love #4

Letterbox Love is a meme hosted by Lynsey of Narratively Speaking whereby book lovers can exhibit the books they received this week.

This week I have received 2 library books; both ones that I ordered a while ago. It seems for every book I take back I have 2 to collect!

Exodus Code‘ by John and Carole Barrowman is my first Torchwood novel. This seems to be pretty standalone, and the blurb sounded good so I thought I would read it, and see if it inspires me to read other Torchwood books.

I am currently reading ‘Grace Under Pressure’ as its the only library copy in my authority and someone else is waiting for it, so I thought I’d better read it next! I think it is interesting insight into the life of a mum whose child has a disability. Look out for my review in the next couple of days!

So that’s my tiny mailbag this week! What did you receive this week? Have you read either book and do you think it should be at the top or the bottom of my to read pile?
